What if when Frodo told Sam to go home in ROTK he just stayed sat on the rock and Frodo went all the way to Mordor alone and he was rescued by the Eagles and taken to Gondor and when he woke up he was just great y’all are here but where’s Sam I sent him home and nobody knows so they go back to the Shire but he’s not there so Frodo and his bros retrace their steps and they find Sam’s decomposing body still curled up on that rock where Frodo left him.
